Germà Bel i Queralt

Germà Bel i Queralt (born March 15, 1963) is a politician and economist from Catalonia, Spain. He is a full professor for applied economics at the University of Barcelona. His research focuses on topics of political economy, public sector reform, privatizations, regulation, and aspects of transport and infrastructures. Gemà holds a PhD in economics from the University of Barcelona. Between 1990 and 1993 he served as advisor to the Ministry of Public Administrations as well as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. He was elected congressman in 2000 and since 2004 has returned to being a university professor at the University of Barcelona as well as a visiting professor at Cornell University.
